Our Services
All of us at some point in our training or career have encountered colleagues or family members in difficulty, or we ourselves have faced personal problems.
The Physician Health Program of British Columbia is here to provide advocacy and support to physicians, including those in training and their families. Common concerns dealt with by the program include, but are not limited to: personal and family emotional health issues, the inappropriate use of alcohol and/or drugs or coping with physical illness.
Confidential, and if you chose, anonymous advice and support is available.
The program staff are keenly aware of the sensitive nature of these matters and respects the privacy of those who contact the program. Concerns can be discussed anonymously, with the program's Clinical Coordinator.
Physicians should not be afraid to reach out to a colleague, a physician-in-training or a family member who is experiencing difficulty. If you have any worries about yourself or someone close to you…
